Our backyard at sunset. - Shane Edins

Marcelle Greene Edins is leaving the rat-race behind and focusing on her work as a writer and chef-in-training. She is also excited to be able to spend more time at home with her son.

She worked for many years as a secondary school teacher and an attorney in Texas. While she is proud of her accomplishments as an attorney, she has always considered herself more of an educator at heart. She is very passionate about issues surrounding children, family, health and nutrition, education and the elderly.

On the lighter side, cooking and baking are her lifelong passion. She began baking at the age of 6 and loved the happiness that serving up a tasty treat would bring to her family. Marcelle always looks forward to cooking and entertaining friends and family. She is working hard to improve her skills as a homecook . She is estatic about her new endeavors and hopes one day to add the title of "Chef" to her résumé. She also enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

She works from home as a freelance writer and she is thrilled to be a contributing writer for Suite101.
